This morning, pre-paid carrier Cricket announced that starting March 13th, it will offer the latest version of the Motorola Moto E to its subscribers. The handset will be priced at $129.99. Those purchasing the device will get some goodies like unlimited calling and messaging to Mexico from the U.S. on Cricket's Smart, Pro and Advance plans.
The handset will feature Cricket's Wi-Fi app pre-installed. With this app, Cricket users can connect to one of 14 million free and open hotspots available across the country. Those moving to Cricket from T-Mobile, Metro-PCS, Sprint, Boost and other networks, will receive a free month of service if they select the $50 or $60 rate plan. This free month will come after two paid months using the Smart, Pro or Advanced plan.
The second-generation Motorola Moto E features a 4.5-inch screen with a resolution of 540 x 960. A 64-bit quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 CPU is under the hood. 1GB of RAM is on board along with 8GB of native storage. If you need additional memory, a 32GB capacity microSD slot is available. A 5MP camera is on back and a .3MP snapper adorns the front of the unit. A 2390mAh battery keeps the lights on and Android 5.0 is pre-installed.
